North country boy However, if

North country boy

However, if I enable the Phone lock type to either patter or password and then press the power button once to blank the screen and then a second time to turn the screen on again, the phone just goes back to the previous screen instead of the lock screen. Am I doing something wrong here? Right now, I have the phone set to lock after one minute of inactivity. I would really like to be able to lock the phone by using the lock/power button. If I set a lock code on the phone and I hit the lock button on top, I expect to have the option for the phone to actually lock not 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes or whatever. Those are nice options but if you set a lock code there should be the option to say if I lock the phone it s actually locked. I think there should be an option for that on the phone by default, barring that, is there an app out there that does this already that I missed? I thought I could lock the screen, but it won t lock while in the middle of a call. im brand new to the Droid 2 coming off 3 years as Blackberry owner and still getting used to these forumsI tried searching this answer but on the phone it s a bit hrd getting anywhere so forgive me if it s been asked 1000 times already. I spoke to tech support at Verizon and was told they are pretty north country boy there is a way to avoid hanging up on calls while resting phone against your ear but they didn, t know how. I m SO frustrated with this phone because I can t get used to it ;however, I know it will be an awesome phone once I find some help getting the basics down. So is there a way to lock the touch screen while on a call? Can you create a shortcut button for that or maybe there is an app for it?Any other advice for a newb is always welcome! Battery will be the death of me even with App Killer-lol. Also wish it typed like the BB. Have to capatalize and punctuate in many forms like this one. Am I just missing something?Oh don, t use Swype b/c my fingers don t cooperate at the moment but maybe someday will get that down too! Does anyone know how to keep the pattern lock screen from kicking in right after you hang up on a call? It seems rather ridiculous that the lock pattern should immediately kick in. There are so many things that one might want to do right after the call is completed, such as making another call, checking an appointment, etc. It becomes an unnecessary two handed process to unlock the phone one to hold and one to play tic tac toe tic. If need be, the power button on top can be immediately depressed if it is not necessary to use the phone and the user feels that the security screen should be kicked back on again. Same question for when the car is plugged into the car charger. If you are driving, it is dangerous to have to use two hands to unlock. I know the phone is sitting there on the adjacent seat, in a cup holder, or wherever, and some unintended screen icon is not likely to be pressed by accident in a pocket or have someone reach through the window to steal the phone while the car is in motion. I see no reason not to be able to refresh the home screen without having to connect the dots, under these two scenarios. There have been some complaints floating around that the Emergency Call on the lock screen is not working. You click it and the north country boy just goes blank, anybody else seeing this. They better fix this fast, or there could be a potential Lawsuit in the making. Since the update, I don t have an emergency call button on my lock screen. I don t remember one being there before either. The manual talks about one being there, and I ve seen posts about it. Is this an option to turn on? I bought a Desire two days ago, and realized yesterday that, when i call someone, the phone goes directly in lock mode and can not be unlocked anymore The only way to unlock it without pulling the battery, is by hanging up with the handsfree kit. OR if the person i call hangs up. Which never happens when you call a voice mail for example. When my phone is in its holder in my car, and i am on a call, my phone will lock, meaning to end the call i have to unlock the screen using power button to unlock before i can end there a better solution? justs gets a chore to hang the phone up. I continue to turn off the vibrate notification for emails, only to have it somehow turn itself back on and start vibrating again. i noticed that ever since i rooted and using froyo 2 BB i am unable to end certain apps, to be specific apps market and internet explorer. i used advance task killer manager, and other task killing apps and they just wont end. i mean its not a big deal, but it gets annoying that everytime i open the browser it brings me back to the page i was last on and not my homepage, or when i launch the market place, im left at the last app i was looking at instead of the main page. was froyo designed like this? cause i know it wasnt like this before i was rooted. Usually the phone is awake, and when you lower it the phone lights up for numeric input love that feature. But after a minute or so it locks. You have to push power button before you can enter numbers annoying. Is there a keep alive option I m not seeing? On a similar note, is there a way to make the phone lock automatically like an app? It s also annoying to have to manually lock it: I d rather keep waking it up if it was indeed idle and not running a program than forget to lock it and dial/message everyone in my contact list from my pocket. No matter what I do I cannot get around the boot I was trying to flash the CM Remix ROM, which ended in a boot loop. I then tried just JRummy s ROM, ended it boot loop. I wiped data, cache and factory flashing CM Remix again, boot flashing a 1ghz kernel, boot do I go to wipe system, boot, etc. ? I m starting to lose hope here.
